Water torture tests - Canon 5D Mark IV comes through fine. Sony.. ?

Imaging Resource did a great analysis of water resistance of the latest professional grade cameras from Canon, Nikon, Sony and Olympus.

All manufacturers except Sony's A7R III survived the test with flying colors (the Nikon D850 required an additional hotshoe cap to get up to a good level of water resistance).

The 5D Mark IV environmental seals;

The 5D Mark IV and it's seals passed with flying colors;

As to the other cameras (the Canon 5D Mark IV and Olympus E-M1 Mark II), neither one showed any effect from our water challenge. We found no water in any of their compartments or viewfinders, and neither had any operational difficulties whatsoever. We'd expected this based on our own previous experiences with each camera, but it was a comforting reassurance.
