Preliminary specifications of the 90D
A new rumor with the preliminary specifications of the 90D has just surfaced.
While the 90D is an important camera for Canon to come out with, it remains to be seen if there will be another camera above it; the 7D Mark III, or will the 7D quietly disappear. Going by the specifications it certainly seems as if the 90D is going upmarket. The fact that it has dual Digic certainly was once the domain of only the 1 series and the 7D series camera bodies.
There's a fair amount of reasons why Canon cannot simply merge these cameras back together again, if it's indeed true there's no 7D Mark III coming out, it will be interesting to see how Canon manages the 90D.
Here are the specifications;
- 32.5mp APS-C DPAF Sensor
- Dual DIGIC 8
- Dual SD card slots
- 10fps still shooting
- ISO range of 100-51,200
- 45 AF points (no word on the number of cross-type points)
- 4K video at 24/25, 30 and 60fps (No word on DPAF in 4K recording)
- 3.2″ rear articulating LCD
- Dust and moisture sealing
- Built-in wifi and Bluetooth
- $1399 USD price at launch
- Coming late August 2019
The only way to get to 10fps with 32.5MP is to use dual DIGIC's. A single DIGIC 8 as we mentioned would only go to 7.5 fps. So form a cursitory look it appears as if it could be legitimate.
Keeping the articulating screen means, for the most part, they have decided to keep the 80D ergonomics.
Time will tell. Specifications this far out usually turn out to be quite inaccurate.
