Canon Patent Application: Ultra Wide CINI EF Mount Zooms
We discovered this patent application, and are pretty sure it's for the CINI lineup of cameras. The image height specified by the patent application is 15.55 which is not APS-C (12.66) and is too small for full frame (21.64). Super 35, around the size of 24.89 x 18.66 is 15.55mm image height, and that matches up exactly to the patent application image height.
It's curious to note that the backfocus distance on these lenses suggest EF lens mount, and not the new RF mount, which indicates that Canon is still going ahead with the CINI lineup being EF mount, for now. We feel because of the ease of adaptability, Canon will sooner than later offer a RF mount CINI camera though. But back to the patent application. This patent application has several different embodiments;
