Canon Patent Application: Further developments in Hybrid IS systems

In this Canon patent application they specifically look to address what they term parallel shake when focusing on close subjects.

In Hybrid or IS for Macro lenses the lens attempts to reduce motion caused by angular movement and shift movement, instead of simply shift movement as in normal IS lenses.

This looks to be improving on Hybrid IS by performing more highly accurate shake correction.

Also interesting to note to that they consider moving the sensor OR the lens elements in this patent, however do not go into embodiments about sensor movement.  Canon seems to be covering their bases it seems for future development
