More information on the 1DX Mark III

The 1DX Mark III was just announced a little while ago on October 23rd, and we already have our first tidbits of leaks with more details on the 1DX Mark III.

Canon Rumors states that their source states that the 1DX Mark III;

  • The battery life is nothing short of amazing, much better than the 1DX Mark II.
  • The silent shutter mode in liveview is absolutely silent.
  • The eye AF works incredibly well (via liveview we are assuming)
  • The AF-ON trackpad is so innovative, works fast and it very precise. In the source's words, "it's a real revolution. Nobody will be using the old joystick"

The more we hear about the 1DX Mark III the more we believe that Canon rolled up their sleeves and made possibly their best ever 1 series camera.

Also, according to the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun which is a very respected newspaper in Japan, the 1DX Mark III will be released in early 2020.

We still don't' know some critical details such as is the video cropped and is it oversampled.  Or what the megapixels are for the camera. It could very well be that Canon has several possible designs with different megapixels, and are waiting to see what Nikon does with the D6.  It wouldn't be the first time.
