Canon Patent Applicaton: Diffractive Optics

Canon has never stopped looking to advance diffractive optic elements.  I'm hoping that this sooner than later translates into some super uber cool Canon RF lenses.

This patent applications seems to be improving the transmittance of the diffractive element over a wide wavelength range.  It appears that this diffractive element is using ITO (indium tin oxide) fine particles.
