Canon Patent Application: Mirrorless kit lenses
This patent application demonstrates several different kit lenses for full frame and also a couple of APS-C 18-55 models. With the variable apeture and less complicated element arrangement, these are certainly looking to be low cost lenses. Also the full frame lenses have a smaller image circle at the wide end, meaning, there's post processing that occurs to stretch the image out to the full size of the sensor.
The lens designs are;
- Full Frame 24-70 F3.6-F5.6
- Full Frame 20-85mm F3.6-F5.6
- APS-C 18-55 F3.6-F5.6
