Venus Optics announces the Argus 45mm F.95 for the RF mount

Venus Optics continues its trend of some eyebrow-raising ultra fast primes with the announcement of the Argus 45mm F.95 prime that is available for the RF mount and other full-frame mirrorless mounts.

From Venus Optics who makes the Laowa brand, the summary of the new Argus lens;

Laowa Argus 45mm f/0.95 FF is the sister lens of Argus 35mm f/0.95 FF and 33mm f/0.95 CF APO. It is an exceptional standard lens with a maximum aperture of f/0.95. The shallow depth of field, close to human eyes perspective and romantic rendering adds character to the image which makes the ordinary image extraordinary while inspiring people to enjoy photography in both sufficient and low light conditions. This fully metal lens has an outstanding optical performance and video-friendly component which is a professional lens for every photographer and videographer.

Keep in mind that the Laowa lenses (including Argus) have no electronic connections with the camera, so your aperture will show as 0 and you'll get no lens information in your EXIF.

However, considering the price of these lenses and the raw speed of them, it's still a bargain at $799.

You can view more information about this new lens here on the venus optics website and you can purchase directly from them as well.
