CanonNews / Saturday, April 3, 2021 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Lenses Three Canon RF L's should be coming later this month We are finally starting to see some movement from Canon, as Nokishita has confirmed that three new Canon RF L's are coming later this month. The Canon RF 600mm F4L, 400mm F2.8L, and 100mm F2.8L Macro will be the first of Canon's releases this year. These were listed in the roadmap that was leaked last October, which you can see here. I wouldn't expect much in the way of dramatic differences in the super telephotos, with the exception of the control ring. While mirrorless can achieve much smaller designs at times, with super telephotos, since room has to be left in the rear of the lens for extenders, the optical designs have to be quite similar to those from the EF mount. Canon usually makes the super telephotos the pinnacle of their optical design and development, it will certainly be interesting to see what they have done to them for the RF mount. The Canon RF 100mm F2.8L Macro will be the first full 1:1 macro for the RF mount and highly anticipated. We've discovered several patent applications for a 100mm F2.8 macro, including a 1.14x macro lens recently discovered here. A more normal macro patent application was discovered here late last year. We hope to have more details soon.
