CanonNews / Saturday, June 23, 2018 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Mirrorless Speedbooster coming to EF-M soon? A dpreview post from a support email from Viltrox seems to indlcate they are working on an EF-M to EF speedbooster for the EF-M mount. The Email from Viltrox stated: Dear Customer, Thanks for your emial. In fact the EF-E II is for Canon EF lens for Sony E mount cameras, not for Canon EF-M mount. Our engineer are studying for EF-EOS MX which is for Canon EF lens to Canon EF-M mount focus reducer adapter. It will be ready in around 2-3 months. Please kindly wait for it. Thanks This would be nice as there is limited options for limiting depth of field with the existing EF-M lenses, or a straight through EF-M to EF adapter. There are some other speedbooster that are limited in quantity as they are hand converted from Sony EF to EF speedboosters, and a few generic speedboosters, but none of the "major" brands of these have done an EF-M to EF mount. Now we just have to see if metabones follows suit. We sent an email to Viltrox to see if they will confirm to us directly this adapter becoming available and will update this post if we hear anything. Update: Viltrox got back to us very quickly with confirmation that this adapter will be released in the next 2-3 months.
