CanonNews / Saturday, January 11, 2020 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Mirrorless Preliminary specifications of the EOS R Mark II Preliminary specifications of the EOS R Mark II have been released. While it is still pretty early for these specifications as the EOS R Mark II is supposed to come out sometime later in 2020, this gives us our first glimpse into the new EOS R Mark II. According to these new specifications from Canon Rumors, it seems like this Mark II version is moving more upscale with the addition of a dual card slot and much better 4K video. The specifications from Canon Rumors; 32mp IBIS DIGIC X (A different version than the EOS-1D Mark III) 12fps ISO 100 – 51,200 1 SD card slot 1 CFexpress slot No crop 4K video with DPAF No RAW video 5mp EVF May get a new naming scheme I find the specifications credible, especially the last point. I'm questioning if this is an EOS R Mark II or another RF camera line. I've always thought that Canon will continue with a more upscale version of the "R" for both medium resolution and high resolution, similar to the 5D line. It never felt as if the EOS R was meant to be that. For instance, do we get an EOS 5Rs and an EOS 5R? With dual card slots, and better ergonomics, and the EOS R just simply dies, or gets the Mark II treatment later on in the future.
