CanonNews / Saturday, June 15, 2019 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Powershot Powershot G5X Mark II to be announced within a month In somewhat of a surprise rumor, Nokishita states that the powershot G5X Mark II is coming out in less than a month. This in front (I presume) of the G7 X Mark III that seems to have been put on hold. The G5X came out in October 2015, so it's certainly due for an upgrade. It's unknown if this would simply be a processor and 4K'ing of the powershot cameras, or if something bigger is happening, such as a new 1" sensor from Canon that has been rumored for a while now. Interestingly, the G5X seemed to be a precursor to what turned into the EOS M5, sharing the evf, and general look of the camera, even though the wheel ergonomics were entirely different. Could this be the start of the update to the G series cameras and also the M5? Time will tell. We're also hoping that this may be the precursor to seeing an 18-70mm powershot as well, as we discovered with this patent application.
