CanonNews / Thursday, October 17, 2019 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Mirrorless New Rumor: Canon working on Animal eyeAF A new rumor suggests that Canon is busy working in Animal eyeAF, and that there are apparently patents (or patent applications) available for it. We have confirmation that Canon is also working on animal Face tracking and Eye AF. We already have the patents related to that As far as I know, this site has fairly low reliability (not to mention they NEVER source their rumors, patents, etc - not even to Nokishita), so take it with a grain of salt. Of course, it's certainly probable that Canon is looking at matching the Sony AF system, and quickly. Animal AF would be certainly something I could see Canon implementing for the upcoming 1 series RF mount camera, sometime in 2021. While we haven't seen any specific animal eyeAF patents, the patents are usually quite obscure for such implementations, that it could very well be that there are eyeAF patents available. We'll investigate this further over the coming few days.
