New Rumor: Canon 5DS replacement coming in 2019

In many ways I feel that the next 5DS camera may be an interesting camera, canon has stated that they are creating a 120MP DSLR camera, they have demonstrated that they can make industrial APS-H 120MP sensor of 120MP shooting at 9.5fps recently, so they have the technology to bring this to a full frame camera.  Will it be mirrorless is a big question.  it would make sense for a camera that specializes in such high resolution to be mirrorless remove mirrorslap and vibrations as much as possible.

Canon would still have some work to do, while the sensor they showed off for the 120MP camera looked good, it didn't have nearly as good of a dynamic range as one would help from a camera in this era.

However, there's much to be said about the oversampling effect you would get and the "image dynamic range" versus the "per pixel" dynamic range.

The rumor from CR, as they state;

We’re told that Canon mentioned the replacement for the EOS 5DS / EOS 5DS R in an internal presentation last week. The camera is scheduled to be announced in the first half of 2019.

The presentation only mentioned one camera body to replace both the EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R. I don’t think this change in the line-up would surprise anyone
