CanonNews / Monday, March 16, 2020 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Mirrorless High Megapixel EOS-R5s in testing CanonRumors has received word that a high megapixel EOS RF mount camera is currently in testing. The megapixel range is around the 90MP, which from our point of view would seem to be the sweet spot for Canon and this camera. Unlike the EOS R5, this camera will have limited video functionality and be aimed squarely at stills photographers. So probably some form of line skipped 4K,etc. We have been calling this rumored camera the R5s for a while now. This rumor sounds about right as a 90MP camera would come in at around 10 fps, under the 12 fps mechanical shutter speed of the R5. This would make a worthwhile competitor to the A7R IV, and the Z 7 series cameras. Even though the rumor doesn't state so, I would fully expect this camera to have the same ergonomics as the R5, similar to the 5D and 5Ds. The release isn't expected until 2021.
