Hands on video with the Canon EOS R5

Someone actually got to touch the camera!

They didn't say much that we didn't already know, I'm sure Canon told them what they could mention and what they couldn't. They mention some interesting new specifications on this video I don't know if it's true.  It's a good look at the person walking through some of the menus to see what's actually new in the camera.

Process 8K video into higher quality 4k (up to 120 fps).  Okay, if this is true, Canon found a way to cheat physics.

Canon Log also has View assist which allows you to change what the viewable EVF / LCD output looks like while the camera records full flat video files out.  This allows you to get an idea of how it would look after grading while you are recording the flat video file.

Canon has finally added Zebra into their ILC's.

This menu that IS Mode is for the camera as well as Digital IS.  However, I'm surprised it's not called IBIS to reduce confusion.  Nothing really stands out as saying IBIS on this camera.  I'm *hoping* IS mode is the camera's IS mode and not the lens IS.  Canon wouldn't have pulled that stunt, would they?  They actually stated in the original press release;

The EOS R5 will be the first Canon camera equipped with IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization)

I mean .. they wouldn't... would they?

So I am going to assume IS mode is for IBIS control here. Unless they shoved it all under "Digital IS" but that would be confusing.

It looks like AF subject settings for humans and animals are separate, but by setting to no priority sounds like the subject tracking would be able to flip back and forth to either.

It's a pretty good video, and I'm jealous they got to hold it and run away with it at the end of the video ;)
