Deal: Kingston DataTraveler Max

Need a quick and dirty on the go backup of your laptop?

As many of you know, I travel quite a bit - and one thing I try to always have is a complete backup of my laptop somewhere separate from hard drives, and the laptop itself.  This is in case the entire laptop bag is stolen from me during transit from the airport to the hotel.  Having a small device like this that could be put anywhere (for instance hidden in my main luggage) always ensures that if something dreadful happens, I have an easy way to get back up and running again.  For photographers on the go, this is a great way of backing up your current vacation, trip, or excursion photos when wifi or mobile data speeds are slow or nonexistent and thus you can't back up to the cloud.

Usually, I ignore flash drives because they are dreadfully slow - but this one promises fast read and write speeds using USB 3.2 Gen 2.

You can never have too many backups.  I know this as I had my entire laptop stolen, but luckily everything was backed up on an external hard drive that the thieves did not see or take.  I got lucky.  They could have quite easily taken the external hard drive as well.  I now make sure that everything is also backed up to a device that isn't readily visible if someone is looking to take my equipment.  This certainly fits the bill.

For today only, the Kingston datatraveller 256GB and 1TB data sticks are on sale and for me, are a really compelling option to have a secondary small backup.
