CanonNews / Wednesday, July 1, 2020 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Mirrorless Countdown to the R5 and R6 With the announcement less than 9 days away, let the countdown begin. A bunch of little rumors have been surfacing and we'll itemize what we have heard and our comments. CanonRumors reports that a major new feature for photographers is coming to the R5. However, no other details are known at the time. We already know that it will have amazingly - bird eyeAF, so what else could it be for the photographers? One new feature now that Canon has IBIS - just may be pixel shifting. CanonRumors also reports that Canon will do a livestream of the announcement. Of course, in the new normal of COVID-19, this comes as little of a surprise. An odd part of the rumor also suggests that the RF teleconverterswill work with any RF lens. Seems odd to be, assuming the pictures we've seen are RF teleconverters, since the elements would ingress into the lens quite a bit. Nokishita informs us that they have discovered "somewhere" product title pages for the "EOS R5" "EOS R6" "RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM" "RF800mm F11 IS STM" "RF600mm F11 IS STM" "RF85mm F2 Macro IS STM". This means, I would imagine that Canon is starting to prep the worldwide websites for the RF onslaught that is going to hit the world in less than 9 days.
