The above image is a hint that I think this will be a 16mm pancake lens for the RF mount. The image isn't of the 16mm, just a different angle on the 40mm EF pancake ;) Traditionally a pancake lens is near the same focal length as the registration distance of the mount. The RF mount has a registration distance of 20mm, and a rear element can be inset easily to accomplish the same distance to focal length proportion needed for a 16mm pancake lens. Also, the fact that it's a relatively slow prime (F2.8), also gives a further clue that this is going to be a very small lens. The 100-400 has been on the lens roadmap for a while now, and it's our understanding that this is the replacement for the EF 70-300mm lens. We are assuming consumer-grade, but light and also more importantly, relatively inexpensive. After some eye-watering yet dazzling lenses, it will certainly be nice to get some consumer glass.
