CanonNews / Monday, January 6, 2020 / Categories: Rumors, Canon Mirrorless Canon RF announcements coming ahead of CP+ With all the flurry surrounding the 1DX Mark III, it's easy to forget about Canon's new RF mount and what is coming up for that. According to Canon Rumors, a source states that before CP+ we'll see one more Canon RF camera body and two RF lenses. While I'm sure that Canon will release a multitude of lenses throughout the year, I'd be surprised if they don't announce it the same as they did last year, because that gave a good narrative to talk about for the entire year. However, Canon knows the numbers, and maybe they felt a more traditional announce / release schedule may work better for the RF mount. It's expected that this camera is most likely the high-resolution camera we're coining the EOS Rs. It is expected to have a more professional camera body, and may also include Canon's first attempt at IBIS. We haven't heard anything concrete about IBIS, however, considering the slew of patent application work that Canon has done on IBIS and the RF mount, this is coming sooner than later. It would make the most sense to put it on a more upscale RF camera. We should be hearing more detailed information in the coming 2 or 3 weeks.
