Canon Patent Application new method of creating a circular aperture

By using different shaped blades and a different aperture mechanism, Canon looks to create circular apertures at any f-stop without increasing the number of mechanical parts to do so.

This would be kind of nice to have, except some may not like what it does to sunstars.
