CanonNews / Thursday, May 30, 2019 / Categories: Canon Patents Canon Patent Application: More Canon RF super telephoto primes Hot on the heels of our discovery last week of the Canon RF Super Telephoto prime patent application is more of them. We have two patent applications for you. As with last week's patent application, this one as well focuses on the 400,500 and 600mm super telephotos and leaves off the notable 300mm 2.8. The Backfocus (BF) identifies that it's shorter than the EF mount of 44mm, meaning the only Canon cameras these could be for, is the RF mount. Of course, the flurry of patent applications doesn't mean that Canon is close to releasing any of the super telephotos. It simply means they are working on them.
