CanonNews / Thursday, March 1, 2018 / Categories: Canon Patents Canon Patent Application: Improved continuous AF when buffer full I personally have never run into this problem but according to Canon, there's potential for less accurate AF when the buffer fills up on a Canon camera. So word to the wise, don't fill your buffer ;) This patent is kind of interesting because it goes into the nitty gritty details about what happens when you smash that shutter button down to hear all glorious 16 fps on a 1DX Mark II, or even a "platry" 9 fps on a EOS-M5 and hit the end of the buffer. The actual patent deals more with the logic behind the various steps that have to occur during continous drive. Previous Article Canon U.S.A.
