Canon Patent Application: Focal Reducers for Mirrorless Cinema

In this patent application, Canon describes some focal reducers that can create some very wild lenses for mirrorless cameras.

My only thoughts on this are that these designs are meant for super-35 cinema sensors in an RF mount since the image height is slightly larger than the normal image height for APS-C (13.66mm).  These adapters would also not even fit on your RF still camera as they ingress into the mount quite a bit (up to 1cm!).

So it's very safe to conclude that these designs are certainly not for your normal APS-C RF mount cameras.  This would also fit with Canon's current speed booster as they state it cannot be used on the RF still cameras.

The reference lens used to get these reduced focal is the 50mm F1.4 full-frame EF lens.  The total lens length would include both the 50mm lens, the focal plane distance (20mm), and the reducer.
