CanonNews / Monday, March 25, 2019 / Categories: Canon Patents Canon Patent Application: Canon RF 70-200 2.8L We know that a Canon RF 70-200 2.8 is coming, and one that is quite short for storage and features and extends as you zoom. This is another patent application that shows relatively the same size and features of the Canon RF 70-200 2.8 patent application we found back in January. The minimum length of this lens in the patent application is 172mm, which, when we subtract the flange distance of 20mm, we come up with an actual lens length of around 152mm. The Canon EF 70-200 2.8L III is 199mm in length, making this new RF lens around 47mm or nearly 2 inches shorter than its EF cousin.
