Canon Patent Application: Another Canon RF superzoom patent application

Canon seems to be building its lens portfolio for the RF mirrorless mount as quickly as possible.  We have another patent application, this time, for another superzoom, a 24-300mm F4-5.6.  This embodiment was in a patent that described the Canon RF 24-105mm F4.0L and Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8.  While there are similarities to the Canon RF 24-240mm, the optical formula is more complex, so this could be an RF equivalent of the Canon EF 28-300mm F3.5-5.6L IS USM.  It shows that Canon is certainly continuing to design interesting lenses for the Canon RF mount.

Lens particulars for this embodiment are;

Focal length   24.72  90.83 290.86
F-number        4.12   5.00   5.88
Angle of view  41.19  13.40   4.25
Image height   21.64  21.64  21.64
Total lens    165.57 210.57 255.57
BF             14.37  32.56  30.89
