CanonNews / Wednesday, June 12, 2019 / Categories: Reviews, Third Party Reviews Canon EOS SL3 review DPreview has released their review of the small update to the SL2, called the SL3 or the EOS 250D as well depending on where you live. DPReview has given the SL3 surprisingly in my mind a silver award and states; Not only does the SL3 have one of the best beginner-friendly 'guide' modes we've seen on a camera (the same as Canon's very similar, but bigger Rebel T7i), but it's capable of taking great images under a wide range of circumstances. It's also fun to use, comfortable to hold, and has insane battery life: provided you use the optical viewfinder. Pros; Good image quality, nice JPEG colors Compact and light, especially for a DSLR Genuinely useful 'guide mode' for beginners Good build quality Comfortable grip, generally good controls Dual Pixel autofocus in live view is great, the viewfinder system is okay Great battery life using the viewfinder Strong wireless connectivity options Cons; Viewfinder may be small for some users Battery life is only 'okay' using live view No USB charging Video quality is unimpressive No in-camera Raw processing Good smartphones will convincingly blur backgrounds better than the SL3's kit lens will allow They conclude; The Canon EOS Rebel SL3 is a great option for beginners that are looking to get serious about photography. It's comfortable to hold, fun to use, and has a useful guide mode to help you learn photography's basics in real time. The optical viewfinder is small but adds flexibility and image quality is solid. Video quality is sub-par and users may eventually grow out of the simplified controls, but for its intended market, the SL3 is good value for money and will reward you with great photographs. At a glance the Canon EOS SL3 has; 24.1MP APS-C CMOS Sensor DIGIC 8 Image Processor 3.0" 1.04m-Dot Vari-Angle Touchscreen UHD 4K24p Video and 4K Time-Lapse Movie 9-Point AF System; Dual Pixel CMOS AF ISO 100-25600, Up to 5 fps Shooting Built-In Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Purchase the Canon EOS SL3 today Previous Article Deal: ONA The Leather Clifton Camera and Everyday Backpack Next Article Skylum Luminar 3.1.1 released with significant performance gains Print 2959 Tags: ReviewCanonEOS SL3EOS 250D Related articles Macquarie University supported by Canon Australia unveils The Huntsman Telescope Canon R7 Review ICYMI: Canon RF 100mm F2.8L IS Macro Review Canon takes aim at #1 in mirrorless Canon's Number 1 (sort of) Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.blog comments powered by Disqus
