CanonNews / Wednesday, December 20, 2017 / Categories: Rumors, Canon CINI Products Canon C900 (6K Cini Camera) coming in 2018? Rumors have started to appear on the possiblity of a C900 or a 6K cini camera that sits above the C700 announced last year. This camera woould be side by side with the 8K Cini camera that is still under development as Canon's high end CINI lineup. While this sounds good for the midrange and goes against the Sony VENICE 6K video camera, it certainly limits Canon's 8K asperations as simply; time is running out. From the rumor; We’re told, though we haven’t confirmed, that Canon will announce a 6K Cinema EOS camera to compete with the Sony CineAlta VENICE 6K camera likely in May of 2018 (though the announcement date isn’t yet set in stone). The new camera that could potentially be called the “C900” will incorporate a new full frame (larger than Super35) 6K image sensor. It’s possible the camera could be announced at NAB in April, but it appears more likely that it’ll be announced after that trade show.
