CanonNews / Wednesday, October 9, 2019 / Categories: News, Industry News BCN Rankings for September - EOS M50 still going strong It will be interesting to see what happens over time with the M200 and the M6 Mark II against the M50. Will the M200 supplant the M50, now that it matches it's specifications sans viewfinder in a tidy little camera? Or will the higher performance M6 Mark II challenge the M50's dominance? As of right now, the EOS M50 has nothing to worry about. It still maintains both #3 and #4 positions in BCN's September rankings. BCN takes around 50% of all the sales receipts from Japan retailers to assemble its rankings. Canon takes 3 out of the top 5 positions, and 6 out of 10 overall with a combination of EOS-M mirrorless and Canon EF rebels. The EOS R seems to be doing better, now ranked at 27 up from the 30's it usually ranked in at. Of course, Sony full-frame mirrorless leads the way however, that lead has narrowed significantly, with the A7 III sitting at position 23. Notably absent is the EOS RP and Nikon full-frame mirrorless; the Z 6 and the Z 7. Of course with the APS-C Z 50 due out any day now, it will be certainly interesting if it challenges Canon's reigning position in Japan's sales.
