Canon EOS R Firmware expected soon
A new rumor surfaced that Canon will release new firmware for the EOS R sometime in the first quarter of 2019.
It's unknown what is taking them so long, but we have a good idea it's not just the silent shutter in continuous shooting firmware release that we actually saw live at a Canon demonstration in October. There'd be hardly any reason for an additional 4-5 month delay to the release of the firmware.
Canon Rumors states;
We’re told that a major functionality firmware update for the Canon EOS R should arrive sometime in the first quarter of 2019. What makes the update “major” and what sort of features are going to be added were not disclosed. It was mentioned that user and media feedback is going to play a major role in future updates for the Canon EOS R and other EOS R bodies.
All we know is that it's coming, and hopefully, we'll see it and get more information about it soon.
The EOS R is certainly bound to get much better, and soon, and the rumor is true were suggestions from media and users will play an important factor in the firmware release. We hope this was also the reason for the delay.
